The author of this journal, Matthew Ong (or Matt to most of his friends) hails from the land of bak kut teh and traffic jam on weekends, the beautiful Klang. The 20-something-years-young boy attends Bethany Chapel, Klang Jaya and believes in the one true God who saved him by His love and grace.

Having a penchant for acoustic music, Jason Mraz is his ultimate idol and he loves singing along to the radio while driving home. An investment banker by day and aspiring dreamer by night, Matt enjoys reading and cooking as well. Favorite authors include J.K. Rowling, Stephen King, George R. R. Martin and Nicholas Sparks. He is well-known at home for his one and only elusive dish, the scrambled eggs.

He adores his mom to bits and enjoys taking strolls at the pasar malam for his weekly dose of keropok lekor and coconut water. The DVD man happens to know him by his first name too.

Matt’s favorite TV shows include How I Met Your Mother (what up), Man vs Wild, The Walking Dead and The Amazing Race Asia. When he grows up, Matt hopes to participate in the amazing race and travel around the world.

Matt also has a soft spot for fishing, photography, live performances, YouTube videos and dogs. He secretly plans to adopt a golden retriever and call him Marley someday.

And he has small eyes (Matt, not Marley).
